AWARD OF PUDUCHERRY STATE POST-MATRIC SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME

RULES AND REGULATIONS

General:
Government of Puducherry has formulated and implementing this scheme from the year 1968-69 in order that no really brilliant student is prevented on the grounds of poverty alone from pursuing the academic career.
Awards scholarship to the students studying in XIth and XIIth standards and have secured promotion to the next higher class with 60% & 50% of marks in 10th and 11th standard respectively.

Allocation:                 
The number is restricted to 90 in each class i.e., XIth and XIIth standards (Total – 180) for a year and will also depends on the availability of funds in the budget of the year.

ELIGIBILITY:

  1. Must be citizen of India and belongs to the U.T. of Puducherry either by birth or domicile i.e., continuous residence not less than 5 years.
  2. Students studying in XIth and XIIth standards and have secured promotion to the next higher class with 60% & 50% of marks in 10th and 11th standard.
  3. Any category student with annual family income of Rs.75,000/- and below.

 

Amount of Scholarship:
      Grants the scholarship for ten months in an academic year at the following rates:

  1. For the Day Scholar- Rs.60/month for each student (Rs.600/year/student).
  2. For the Hosteller- Rs.100/month for each student (Rs.1,000/year/student).

Receipts of Proposals / Applications:
This Directorate receives the proposals from the head of institutions in google forms.

Selection of Beneficiaries:
Grants scholarship to the 90 numbers of eligible students for each class i.e., XIth and XIIth standards.
If proposals received more than the required number, this Directorate selects the required number of beneficiaries strictly in the order of merit of marks in per cent starting from the top and also in the order of preference of students from the Government schools, Government Aided schools and then from the Private schools recognized by the Government.

Payment of Scholarship:
The Department disburses the scholarship amount directly into the Aadhaar seeded viable bank account of the sanctioned / approved beneficiaries by DBT through PFMS.
