RECRUITMENT RULES FOR THE POST OF DEPUTY DIRECTOR*/CHIEF EDUCATIONAL OFFICER IN EDUCATION DEPARTMENT, PONDICHERRY

Subject to variation dependent on work-load.
3. Classification : General Central Services - Group 'A' Gazetted-Non-Ministerial.
4. Scale of pay : Rs. 10,000-325-15,200.
5. Whether selection post or non-Selection post : Selection-cum-Seniority.
6. Age limit for direct recruits : Not applicable.
7. Whether benefit of added years of service admissible : Not applicable.
8. Educational and other qualifications required for direct recruits : Not applicable.
9. Whether age and educational qualifications prescribed for direct recruits will apply in the case of promotees : Not applicable.
10. Period of probation, if any : 2 years.
11. Method of recruitment, whether by direct recruitment or by promotion or by deputation / transfer and percentage of the posts to be filled up by various methods : Promotion, failing which by deputation.
12. In case of recruitment by promotion / deputation / transfer, grades from which promotion / deputation / transfer is to be made : Promotion:
Vice-Principals of Government Higher Secondary Schools with 6 years regular service and Headmaster Grade I/Headmistress Grade I with 6 years regular service in the respective post in the ratio of 3:4

Note:
Only those who opted promotion to the post of Deputy Director/Chief Educational Officer will be considered for promotion.

Deputation:
Officers under the Central/State Governments/ Union Territories-
(a)
(i) Holding analogous posts on regular basis in the parent cadre/Department; or
(ii) With 5 years' service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in the scale of pay of Rs.8,000-13,500 or equivalent in the parent cadre/Department; or
(iii) With 6 years' service in the Grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in the scale of pay of Rs.7,500-12,000 or equivalent in the parent cadre/Department; and
(b) Possessing the following educational qualifications
(i) Master's Degree of a recognised University or equivalent.
(ii) Degree in Teaching/Education of a recognised University or equivalent.

The Departmental Officers in the Feeder category who are in the direct line of promotion shall not be eligible for consideration for appointment on deputation. Similarly, deputationists shall not be eligible for consideration for appointment by promotion.

(Period of deputation including period of deputation in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same of some other organization/ department of the Central Government shall ordinarily not to exceed three years. The maximum age limit for appointment on deputation shall be not exceeding 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of application).
