RECRUITMENT RULES FOR THE POST OF HEADMASTER GRADE-I (IN HIGH SCHOOLS)

1. Name of the post : Headmaster / Headmistress Grade - I (in High Schools).
2. Number of posts : 62 posts
3. Classification : Group-'C' - Non-Gazetted
4. Scale of pay : Rs. 650-30-740-35-810-EB-35-88040-1,000-EB-40-1,200
5. Whether selection post or non-Selection post : Selection post
6. Age limit for direct recruits : Between 25 and 35 years.

Note: "The crucial date for determining the age limit shall be the closing date for receipt of applications from candidates in India (other than Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep).

In respect of posts, the appointments to which are made through the Employment Exchanges, the crucial date for determining the age limit will in each case be the last date upto which the Employment Exchanges are asked to submit the names".
7. Educational and other qualifications required for direct recruits : Educational Qualification -
B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. or equivalent Degree with a Degree in Teaching of a recognised University or C.A.P.

Experience -
Ten years teaching experience including 3years experience as Headmaster Grade II/ Headmistress of an Upper Primary (Middle) School. Proficiency in the language, which is the medium of instruction in the school. (Qualification relaxable at Commission's discretion if candidates are otherwise well qualified).
8. Whether age and educational qualification prescribed for direct recruits will apply in the case of promotees : Age will not apply.

9. Period of probation, if any : Two years.
10. Method of recruitment, whether by direct recruitment or by promotion or by transfer / deputation and percentage of the vacancies to be filled up by various methods : Promotion failing which by direct recruitment.
11. In case of recruitment by promotion / deputation / transfer, Grade from which promotion / deputation / transfer is to be made : Promotion from School Assistant Grade-I/Headmaster Grade-II/Deputy Inspector of schools with three years service in the grade;
Provided that, the total length of service in any post not below the rank of School Assistant Grade-II shall be not less than 10 years;
Provided further that, merit being equal, preference shall be given to those possesing longer years of service in any post or posts not less than the rank of the School Assistant Grade-II
12. If a Departmental Promotion Committee exists, what is its composition? : Departmental Promotion Committee for Group 'C' post.
13. Circumstances in which Union Public Service Commission is to be Consulted in making recruitment : As required under the U.P.S.C. (Exemption from Consultation) Regulations, 1958.
